Head Chef Ivans Šmigarevs
Born and bred in the Latvian countryside, Ivan honed his skills at such world-class establishments as Michelin-starred Maaemo in Norway and Noma in Denmark. He is one of only a handful of Latvian chefs to have made a name for themselves internationally.
Creative Chef Dzintars Kristovskis
An avid forager, Dzintars is a true expert of Nordic bounties and can turn the most modest vegetable into a magnificent dish. Before joining the Barents team, Dzintars headed the kitchen of Annas Hotel restaurant, which landed in the prestigious White Guide under his auspices.

Sizzling food, fast-cutting knives, and clouds of steam rising from pots and pans, while the team of chefs work in a hasty harmony – all elements come together in a symphony of fine cuisine. There are just six front-row seats to this chef-orchestrated show, set in front of the 2000-year-old black oak counter, the only thing separating you from the open kitchen and its maestro, Head Chef Ivans Šmigarevs. Ivan’s jocular personality is an intrinsic part of the experience.
