Marumba blends the traditional flavors of the Carpathian Basin with modern gastronomic trends. The restaurant opened in Erzsébetváros, a bustling and popular hospitality district of the city. The team behind Marumba, who also successfully run Dobrumba and Pingrumba, has once again introduced a unique and exciting concept.

Marumba aims to present traditional flavors in a new light while preserving the authentic character of Hungarian cuisine and the Carpathian Basin. The team's goal with the restaurant's opening is to bring Hungarian cuisine closer to younger generations and foreign visitors alike.


Authentic Hungarian cuisine

Marumba's concept revolves around the motto "contemporary local restaurant with homemade cuisine from the Carpathian Basin region". At the heart of the Carpathian Basin, similar yet distinct cultures converge, reviving forgotten dishes and showcasing beloved favorites.

The restaurant aims to highlight the richness and diversity of Hungarian cuisine while using the freshest ingredients and the latest cooking techniques. The menu is based on authentic Hungarian flavors but also incorporates modern gastronomic trends. Guests can expect unique dishes that faithfully reflect the traditions and creativity of Hungarian and surrounding regional cuisines. The menu features modern versions of classic Hungarian dishes, offering new taste experiences for diners.

Heiszler Olivér is responsible for the kitchen's diversity, focusing on local, Transylvanian, Slovak, Czech, Serbian, and Slovenian comfort foods. The accompanying wines come from the former Austro-Hungarian Empire, with a focus on natural wines.
