Chedi
As Asia is the region with the largest population in the world, it is proportionally possible to discover different and exciting national dishes. The acclaimed Asian restaurant Chedi opened its doors over 15 years ago in the heart of Tallinn Old Town and remains a great place to experience and learn about the rich Asian food culture.
Old town restaurant Chedi introduces traditions from the Far East
Although Chedi is located in the old town of Tallinn, full of a long European cultural history, the traditions represented in the restaurant instead come from the far east. Chedi presents a modern Asian table, where special flavors and exciting ingredients are skilfully combined.
Chedi's menu has been carefully thought out to convey a special but still authentic combination of Asian flavors, fresh and best ingredients and modern culinary art.
Unlike many other restaurants, where the menu is constantly changing, at Chedi you can enjoy the best classics of Asian cuisine all year round: "Chedi's menu is not constantly changing, so that guests can get the flavors they are familiar with. For us, the focus is more on maintaining the level, so that even when 5 years have passed since the last visit, the main favorites of our visitors have not been compromised in their taste quality," explains Anni, manager of Chedi restaurant.
An original story from travels
It all started with their love for Asian cuisine. The team travelled a lot and gathered their inspiration – and their excitement only grew. They met one of London’s most reputable restaurateurs and food philosopher Alan Yau, who supervised the establishment of well-known Michelin-starred restaurants Hakkasan and Yauatcha. They introduced him to their plans, and from this cooperation, Chedi came to be in spring 2008.
A chef of Malaysian origin
Chef Kok Mang Lee from Malaysia takes care of the restaurant's menu. Led by a renowned chef, the menu is based on his previous experience in preparing traditional Asian dishes, to which he has also added a bit of modern culinary art. Other chefs at Chedi have also studied at well-known Asian restaurants, so mouth-watering flavors are guaranteed.
A valued place
Chedi has been among Estonia's top restaurants every year since its early days. The restaurant has also been awarded the title of Silver Spoon in recent years and has also been mentioned in the White Guide list. Now all that remains is to book the table and give your own assessment - great dining experience is guaranteed!
