In June 2024, a new and unique restaurant was opened in Viljandi. Bodega wine restaurant found a place in the heart of the city next to the various food providers.
According to the creators of the place of enjoyment, Ene Ojasuu and Sten Ilau, Bodega is a cozy wine bar-resto focused on a wide selection of wine and cocktails. "Our goal is to provide guests with a memorable experience that combines an excellent wine selection, delicious food and friendly service," they add. Veiniresto offers a wide selection of wines that cannot be found on store shelves, in addition, you can find many rare wines from different parts of the world on our shelves. The shelf of Bodega's exclusive products has several rarities that are suitable for a gift bag even for the most demanding wine connoisseur.
The unique wine dispenser in Viljandimaa gives guests the opportunity to enjoy several different wines during the evening, all chilled to exactly the right temperature. Minimalistic, simple, cozy and warm interior design perfectly complements our elegant wine list and menu.

Kitchen style and signature dishes
Bodega's menu is inspired by the best wine countries in Europe. Ene Ojasuu: "Sten and I have traveled a lot in different wine regions and experienced fabulous taste experiences, and now we feel that the people of Vilndan deserve such a cozy place for good tastes and meeting in their hometown. We are opening Bodega as an evening restaurant, offering a cozy atmosphere where you can enjoy good wine and food.”
For example, our menu features Padron peppers grilled on Green Egg with sea salt, which is an integral part of Spanish tapas. In addition, Kalamata olives directly from Greece, Italian Burrata, classic beef carpaccio (which has already become a real hit among our guests!). Among the main dishes, you can find shrimp risotto and coal-grilled duck fillet and beef entrecote.
Location
Bodega Veiniresto is located in the idyllic old town of Viljandi, within walking distance of good hotels, the lake shore and the castle hills. There is free parking on the street, but Viljandi is so small that we still recommend arriving at the restaurant on foot, the old town is worth exploring!
What does "Bodega" mean?
The name Bodega comes from the Spanish word Bodega, which means wine estate, wine cellar and wine shop, wine bar and also cellar. A word with many meanings, and that's exactly what Bodega wine restaurant combines - the best pearls from wine estates and cellars, the best pieces from European pantries. The name came spontaneously and intuitively to the creators of Bodega.
