Snoob
Nõmme's pleasantly close-to-home restaurant Snoob is proof that we all want more than everyday life offers from time to time – there is a little snobbery in all of us. The family restaurant Snoob has a surprising oasis in the backyard: a tree-lined outdoor terrace with lush pink and blue hydrangea flowers.
The story behind the name
To the question of why they decided to name the restaurant "Snoob," Janica gladly answers: "Probably because we all have a bit of snobbery, we all like to be able to afford something more, to be more, to experience more, to be overflowing, boundless, enjoying exciting food pearls!”
Regardless of the name, this restaurant is not snobbish at all. It is actually a cozy family restaurant, which provides a festive and needed break from everyday life. The menu is the only place where a small dose of snobbery can be found.
Space and joy for everyone
Restaurant Snoob has long been beautiful in its current form. Although the name may give many the impression that it is a place where the tables are decorated only with white napkins and the atmosphere is as exquisite as the gourmet restaurants, in reality, there is space and joy for everyone here. Be it a family with children who discover in the evening that they cannot cook themselves today or a couple in love seeking romantic solitude. Snoob is unique, thought-out in detail and beautiful in its entirety.
Beautiful interior and local, seasonal food
Already upon entering through the door, you can feel a pleasant combination of coziness and tasteful beauty here at Snoob. The wardrobe with a yellowish-green tinge and a slightly time-torn look next to the front door has a pleasantly modest effect next to the bright chandeliers hanging above the bar counter. The lighting may be somewhat exaggeratedly luxurious, but it is very suitable in the general background of the environment because there are also many modest details.
The prominent chef Aleksander Nikoskov ensures that both smaller and larger dining groups will find something to their liking here. The chef says that when compiling the Snoob menu, they always observe seasonality and trends as well as use Estonian ingredients: "Every food must be different, create a surprise and taste experience."
A floral oasis
When stepping onto the outdoor terrace in the backyard of the house, the hostess' favourite flowers are present: pink and blue hydrangeas, which with their rich flowers well-illustrate the restaurant itself.
The restored door, which looks like a piece of the original building, is a memory of what was and a symbol of what is today – a well-kept but cozy family restaurant.
