Mantel ja Korsten
Restaurant Mantel ja Korsten – our charming little green wooden house with a red roof and mantel chimney. Mantel ja Korsten offers a menu inspired by Mediterranean cuisine, presented with a local Estonian twist by our chefs.
For the lover of good food
Our first ambition was to create a community-focused restaurant where people can enjoy dishes prepared by top chefs, whether at the end of a workday or as a special weekend treat. It seems we have succeeded. The people of Kadriorg love us, and we love offering truly good food and carefully selected wines from small producers to the locals here.
Of course, our green wooden house, nestled among other buildings, always welcomes guests from afar who wish to enjoy a nuanced palette of signature dishes. Initially, people are drawn to us by our very, very good menu and the unique experience of our special location. But for the lover of good food, there are even more reasons to visit the only house with a chimney in Kadriorg.
A menu inspired by Mediterranean cuisine
The Mediterranean cuisine, introduced in a simple Estonian style by our young yet experienced chefs Jüri Vainküla and Jürgen Põldoja, is more nuanced than one might think – after all, there are many countries with diverse food cultures along the Mediterranean.
The menu at Mantel ja Korsten is indeed diverse. In addition to seafood and a wide variety of pasta dishes, the restaurant offers Iberico secreto, monkfish, and the already famous hanger steak of beef.
The chef's creations also include dishes that might push the average diner out of their comfort zone a bit.
A complete experience
Everything from the food, carefully selected wines from small producers, increasingly trendy non-alcoholic drinks, attentive service, and the atmosphere is maintained at a level that ensures every guest enjoys every moment spent in the only house with a chimney in the area.
In this three-hundred-year-old building, the story of the nearby Kadriorg Palace and Park, the modern suburban atmosphere, and world-class culinary art come together.
Autumn is a good time to visit the restaurant
In the vibrantly designed rooms, and why not inside the chimney itself, couples and families can find a pleasant place to sit, and even larger groups feel perfectly comfortable in the restaurant.
Rain, the manager of Mantel ja Korsten, says that autumn is a busy time for the community restaurant, as the cozy Mantel ja Korsten offers not only excellent food but also a sense of always being warmly welcomed. With us, you are protected from the rain and cold and pampered with the best dishes made from pure ingredients. Our people know well that good food and attentive service can turn even the worst day into a beautiful evening.
