From Food Stand to Year-Round Café at Ærøskøbing Harbor

Located at the picturesque Ærøskøbing harbor, the cozy eatery Kraut and Koala has been welcoming guests since the summer of 2022. Kraut & Koala started as a food truck on the harbor, offering Australian and German specialties. After a successful first summer, they moved into a year-round café in the old Harbor Kiosk in Ærøskøbing in 2023, providing a warm and comfortable atmosphere. They serve seasonal dishes from 6 PM, Friday through Monday.

Seasonal Tasting Menu Made with Local Ingredients

Using locally sourced ingredients from Ærø and Funen, Kraut and Koala offers a tasting menu featuring a five-course meal. The menu changes regularly to reflect the seasonal products available on Ærø. Therefore, the menu is indicative of what is currently being served, but dishes may be adjusted daily based on availability. This results in a varied menu, allowing guests to enjoy different dishes with each visit.

When you order Kraut and Koala's tasting menu, you can look forward to dishes such as roasted white asparagus and handmade pasta. The menu can be paired with a drink pairing menu, which can include alcoholic beverages, non-alcoholic options, or a mix of both. Additionally, Kraut and Koala offers a separate wine and drinks menu in the restaurant if you prefer not to opt for the drink pairing.

In front of the old Harbor Kiosk where Kraut & Koala is located, you'll find a charming outdoor area. Here, you can enjoy delicious food and drinks in the sun by the harbor, relax, and unwind under the delightful Ærø sky.
