From Røst to the Veneto region in Italy
In 1432, Pietro Querini was wrecked outside the island of Røst in Lofoten. When he finally returned to Venice, he wrote a report of his travels for the senate. Thanks to Pietro Querini, dried fish, which is also known as Baccalà alla Vicentina, became popular in the Veneto region. The Italian and Norwegian fusion cuisine is nothing new, but a tradition they strive to maintain at Gadus.
Traditional meals with a Lofoton twist
On the menu, you can choose from a large selection of delicious antipasti like bruschetta and whale carpaccio, which is something, you have to try! Among the main courses, you find classic meals like carbonara and steamed mussels. However, if you want the complete Røst experience, you should try the ravioli with dried fish. The menu also offers the catch of the day, meat, and pasta. If you want to get the full experience, you should finish the dinner with something sweet from the dessert menu such as panna cotta or the dessert of the day.
If you are looking for a place to enjoy an authentic meal in Røst, then Gadus is the place to go!
