Restaurant Slippen serves delicious seafood and other tasty dishes by the water's edge in central Fredrikstad.
The lake as a neighbour
You will find Restaurant Slippen right by the footbridge, on Kråkerøy/ ‘Værste’ side of the river - with a view of the pier promenade in Plankebyen. Whether you take a seat inside the premises or use the outdoor terrace, the staff at Restaurant Slippen do their best to give you a pleasant experience while you dine on tasty food made from scratch.
Something for everyone
Restaurant Slippen offers a rich à la carte menu with the main focus on fish and seafood, but they also serve exciting meat dishes! For the complete dining experience, you can choose their seasonal 3- or 5-course menu with or without the wine pairing.
Vegetarians and vegans are, of course, welcome at Slippen. Feel free to contact them in advance, and the staff will do their best to prepare a memorable experience.
The menu
The á la carte menu is full of delicious seafood dishes such as creamy fish soup with today's catch and Slippen’s bacalao clipfish with tomato, chilli, olives, pine nuts and aioli.
They also have tasty meat dishes such as 'fallow deer steak with a creamy sauce and caramelized cream and brown cheese, beets, blackcurrants, shiitake, brussels sprouts and glazed potatoes' and ‘pepper-glazed beef tenderloin, grilled onions, Jerusalem artichoke and hazelnut potatoes.’
Serving hours
You can enjoy lunch at Slippen until 16:00 on weekdays and until 15:00 on Saturdays. The dinner menu is available Tuesday to Friday from 16:00. On Saturdays, you can enjoy the dinner menu from 15:00, and 14:00 on Sundays.
Access
If you arrive by car, they recommend using one of the city's car parks. There are also parking spaces near the restaurant on the Kråkerøy side. If you arrive by boat, they have their own pier for guests to use. They, however, unfortunately, do not have the opportunity to make reservations for this.
