Skirri
In the heart of Tromsø, with the harbour on one side and the beautiful square, Stortorget, on the other side, is the spectacular Kystens Hus. It is also where you find Skirri.
Skirri - the history and the dishes
When the restaurant in Kystens Mathus had to decide on a name, they were inspired by Skierri. Skierri is the Sami name for dwarf birch, and this is growing on the tallest parts of the mountains in the very north!
Where the ocean meets land
With north Norwegian flavours, a focus on local produce and food traditions within a broad, northern perspective makes Skirri a modern, Nordic culinary restaurant. Foods from sea and landside, mountains and mountain plateau have a very special place and are of course to be found on the menu when visiting the north of Norway. A visit to Skirri is an absolute must for all outside visitors!
Enjoy a nice meal at the harbour and walk through Stortorget afterwards. The restaurant has some beautiful rooms with a spectacular view. It is also possible to get a table outside on the lovely terrace, and you should consider getting a table here if the weather gods are on our side.
Lapping waves
All year long, you can choose from the great selection on the seasonal menu or spoil yourself with a nice drink. All year long, you can find dishes with cod and reindeer, and in the summertime, the menu is filled with light dishes you can enjoy in the sun or inside the restaurant.
It is a good idea to book a table if you would like to sit outside. On sunny days in Tromsø, the queues are long to get a nice drink in the sun.
