Strindberg

In the middle of Helsinki is the classic restaurant and café Strindberg, which opened in Helsinki on the premises of the former art gallery in 1992. Both the street-level café and the second-floor restaurant offer views of the magnificent Esplanadi Park. During summer, you can enjoy coffee and drinks on their cozy terrace – drinks and snacks are served on the second floor’s timeless and inviting library bar year-round.

Nordic flavours in the heart of Helsinki

Restaurant Strindberg serves both lunch and dinner. Classic dishes such as Rydberg steak, Strindberg meatballs and Wallenberg steak, Toast Skagen and Caesar Salad are always available on the menu at Strindberg. The menu respects clear, simple lines and features Nordic flavours and wines that go well with them.

If you are a tad more hungry, you can try the menu ‘Strindberg,’ which contains, for example, salmon ceviche with parsley mayonnaise and roasted bread, smoked trout with artichoke, potato terrine and creamed mushrooms, and a choice between two delicious desserts.

Private dining room

Private dining and meetings can be held in a separate room for up to 12 persons. The cabinet serves their á la carte menu as well as various meeting packages. Strindberg offers everyone a unique experience – some sparkling with a friend on the summer terrace, drinks in the timeless setting of the Library Bar, coffee and delicacies, and long lunches and dinners amidst the hustle and bustle of the city.

The opening hours for the café are:

Mondays 10.00 -20.00. Tuesdays to Saturdays 10.00 -22.00, and Sundays: 12.00 – 19.00.

The restaurant’s opening hours are:

Mondays 11.30 – 16.00. Tuesdays to Fridays 11.30 – 22.00. Fridays 11.30 – 23.00 and Saturdays 13.00 – 23.00. The restaurant is closed on Sundays.
