Restaurant Meet District is a rugged and rustic bistro located in the heart of Old Porvoo. The restaurant specializes in responsibly raised, dry-aged meat and other local ingredients.

Charcoal-grilled and dry-aged

At Meet District, it's worth ordering meat dishes as that's what the restaurant is known for! Its specialty is various cuts of meat that have been patiently dry-aged and served through charcoal grilling, with the option to choose your own side dishes. Dry-aging gives the meat a particularly rich, even nutty flavor, which is further intensified by charcoal grilling. The restaurant pays a lot of attention to the ethicality of the meat served, and some of the meat comes from nearby farms in Porvoo.

Italian from Finland

In addition to high-quality and local ingredients, the restaurant relies on strong flavors and craftsmanship. The menu is heavily influenced by Italian cuisine but is executed with domestic ingredients. The menu almost always includes crudo, burrata, and tartare, seasoned with seasonal ingredients. The menu is structured according to the Italian way: starting with appetizers, followed by a small pasta or risotto, and main course of meat or fish. Everything is topped off with a delicious dessert. The long formula is suitable for the hungry, but you can also come to the restaurant just to enjoy a collection of different appetizers. From the dessert menu, Meet District recommends trying the legendary Tarte Tatin. Meet District is a beloved place of the long-time Porvoo restaurateur Riku Stenros since 2016. A couple of years ago, it was almost completely destroyed by fire, but in the summer of 2024, the restaurant will reopen its doors and warmly invite old friends as well as new guests to enjoy themselves!
