The team

Welcome to Lore Bistro, a community bistro in the heart of Kalamaja. Kalamaja is a district well-known among the local people, and it is a great place to meet up with friends and family. It often includes enjoying a delicious meal together, so why not do so together at Lore.

The owners are Janno Lepik and Kristjan Peäske, chef and sommelier from well-known restaurants Lee (previously Leib) and Umami. At Lore, they offer a tempting and eclectic menu featuring old comfort-food classics with a twist.

Why share a dish? Well, Lore believes that bringing people together over a shared eating experience brings people much closer to each other. Food prepared and enjoyed with love and care also tastes much better too! After all, ‘breaking bread’ together is an age-old tradition and an important element of community tradition, both here and in many other global cultures.

They also present exciting dishes inspired by the food trips they have been on around the world. Many of their dishes are prepared in a wood-fired oven, and they greatly appreciate the need to blend simplicity, familiarity, warmth and authenticity together.

Kid-friendly restaurant

At Lore, they highly value the family experience, so children are especially welcome here. For the little ones, they have a special menu for them to choose from. They also have a selection of fun table games and art supplies for them to explore. They also cater to the needs of even the tiniest family members by making baby purées. One could say that hospitality is in their DNA.
