Gobi Chef's Table
The Chef's Table at Gobi restaurant offers a truly unparalleled gastronomic experience. Gobi is one of the first restaurants in the world to create the concept of Georgian author cuisine in a fine dining format.
At the Gobi Chef’s Table, you’ll enjoy a private dinner for 6–8 people accompanied by a curated wine selection. Exclusive dishes are prepared by Gobi’s head chef, Luka Khinkiladze.
Dinner reservations can be made for groups of 6–8 people, starting at 6:00 PM daily, with the experience lasting approximately 4.5 hours. Reservations must be made at least 5 days in advance, confirmed by a prepayment. Please inform us of any allergies or dietary preferences when booking.
The Team
The Gobi restaurant team is already familiar to Tallinn residents and visitors through trendy Rotermanni Quarter projects such as the Bruxx restaurant and Gallery Cafe art café. To create authentic flavors, Gobi has enlisted young and promising Georgian chefs who are passionate about modernizing traditional cuisine while staying true to its roots.
Head Chef
Leading the kitchen is Luka Khinkiladze, who began working as a chef at a young age. Today, Luka is deeply inspired by the art of cooking and contemporary gastronomic techniques. He has honed his skills in some of the world’s best Michelin-starred restaurants, curated multiple restaurants in England, Georgia, and Italy, and represented Georgia at the prestigious Bocuse d'Or culinary competition in 2020.
Uniqueness
The Gobi project embodies the spirit of modern Georgian cuisine. Our main goal is to introduce guests to the ancient traditions of Georgian gastronomy reinterpreted through the lens of contemporary author cuisine. We welcome our guests with warmth and hospitality.
Our head chef’s vision is to explore and modernize recipes and traditions from various regions of Georgia using haute cuisine techniques.
The Name
“Gobi” traditionally refers to a round wooden platter used for sharing meals. Sharing food from a Gobi is the ultimate expression of hospitality and trust. Family members and guests traditionally dined from a shared Gobi, inspiring the phrase: “let’s eat from one Gobi,” meaning “let’s share one plate.” It’s also said that the word “Gobi” derives from “me-GOB-roba,” which means friendship. For Georgians, friendship symbolizes trust, understanding, respect, and loyalty. Even today, no celebration is complete without a Gobi.
Cuisine
Gobi offers fusion-style cuisine interpreted as fine dining author cuisine. The menu features traditional dishes from different regions of Georgia, presented with a modern twist by the head chef. We take responsibility for the quality and exceptional taste of our food by using ancient recipes, authentic ingredients, spices brought directly from Georgia, homemade cheeses, and fresh, farm-sourced products.
Interior
The interior design of Gobi was created by a modern and renowned architectural studio. The space is divided into two areas according to the concept: the main dining area with a bar and an open bakery, and the Chef’s Table area, where guests can indulge in the head chef’s culinary experiments.
The main dining room is cozy and spacious, featuring wooden furniture, warm lighting, lush greenery, and handmade clay decorations. At the center of the room is a large wooden table, designed to be shared with others, fostering a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
A highlight of the interior is the fireplace surrounded by soft armchairs, creating a perfect spot to enjoy dinner while relaxing to the sound of crackling wood. The dining area accommodates 84 seats.
Wine
We approached the topic of wine with great care, as grapes are not just a fruit but a symbol of Georgia’s rich culture and gastronomic heritage.
Not only did we revive an authentic Georgian wine cellar, but we also meticulously selected our wine suppliers.
We collaborate with nine Georgian winemakers whose wines reflect unique terroirs and the finest winemaking practices. To preserve the natural fruit flavors, these producers combine traditional knowledge with modernized methods during the winemaking process.
