MEKK, short for Moodne Eesti Köögikunst (Modern Estonian Culinary Art), is inspired by the down-to-earth nature of Estonians and the rich diversity of Mother Nature’s gifts. The menu is crafted from flavors gathered from around the world and recipes passed down by our ancestors.

The restaurant combines knowledge unique to Estonian cuisine and culture while using the finest ingredients from both Estonia and beyond. MEKK is open all day, welcoming guests for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

The menu presents a journey through Estonian flavors from past to present. It features classic appetizers such as spiced sprat salad and crispy bread, as well as main courses that deliver unforgettable taste experiences. Highlights include fish soup with hot-smoked eel, pike perch, cod liver, and trout roe, or whitefish baked in browned butter with an apple sparkling wine sauce. Additionally, the menu includes Estonian-style burgers and salads, such as a pasture-raised beef burger or a salad with cold-smoked duck fillet.

Desserts continue to showcase Estonian cuisine, with treats like rich chocolate cake, warm toffee-rhubarb cake, and blackcurrant delights – all guaranteed to provide an exquisite experience. The menu may change depending on the season.

The restaurant's head chef, Rene Uusmees, is also the creator of MEKK’s cuisine, proudly preserving and promoting Estonian food and culture with his team.

MEKK BAR

At MEKK BAR, wine experts and bartenders embrace the ideology of modern Estonian cuisine, creating what MEKK proudly calls the Modern Drink Handbook.

This collection features national beverages – including a classic cocktail with Vana Tallinn liqueur, berry wines from local winemakers, and Fest sparkling wine – alongside an elegant selection of international drinks available at reasonable prices. Cocktails take center stage, with signature drinks such as Rhubarb Mimosa and Bourbon Punch, as well as sour cocktails like Cherry Sour and Nordic Blossom Sour.

Non-alcoholic cocktails are also available, offering a guaranteed delightful taste experience.

In the long run, the handbook will also include natural ciders, local craft beers, and house wines.
