In the spring of 2021, Magasingaarden in Faaborg came to life again. The couple Jakob and Lilibeth and their staff of talented people have moved in to run a combined restaurant and ice cream parlour with lots of homemade taste impressions. Come and experience it all at Magasingaarden.

Meet the couple behind the place

Jakob and Lilibeth had long been fascinated by the beautiful nature found in southern Funen, so when the opportunity to take over Magasingaarden in Faaborg presented itself, they packed their lives in Copenhagen together to explore a new adventure.

Jakob is a trained chef from the historic Restaurant Sortebro Kro in Odense. Since then, he has also gained experience as a chef at two other popular Odense restaurants: Restaurant Under Lindetræet and Restaurant Marie Louise in Odense. In addition, he has for many years run a catering company and had an ice cream parlour on Frederiksberg.

To help with running Magasingaarden, we have Jakob's wife, Lilibeth, who actually has a background as a nurse. Now she has changed direction and gotten into the restaurant business with happy guests, great food, and beautiful surroundings.

French and modern Nordic cuisine

The kitchen is a combination of French and modern Nordic cuisine, and that is where they get the inspiration for the dishes. Each dish has taste at the forefront. Good food should taste of something and a lot.

For lunch, they serve classic and modern dishes. In the evening, the style is French brasserie. Jakob and his talented team are the ones in charge of making the food, so you are guaranteed a wonderful experience.

Enjoy gourmet ice cream

Magasingaarden also has an ice cream parlour where they make homemade ice cream with all sorts of flavours. Here they serve both ice cream and sorbet made from fresh, quality ingredients. In addition, they have homemade toppings such as licorice meringue, caramel sauce, rhubarb compote and airy guff made on elderflower.

There is also a selection of different ice cream desserts that you can enjoy, both in the café and in the courtyard.
