Restaurant Vår

Restaurant Vår opened its doors in mid-May of 2017, on Vintapperstræde in the center of Odense in Denmark. The focus here is sustainability, local produce, and of course, great taste. It’s a small, cozy restaurant with room for 20 people scattered across just six tables. Since the restaurant’s focus is sustainability, they get all their organic and biodynamic from produce farms are Fyn, and wine mostly from Europe.

Sustainability & local produce

At restaurant Vår, you can experience meals that are made from good quality and healthy ingredients, which are mainly derived from the local area. The meat and vegetables are delivered from smalls farms in Funen, where the fields are grown ecologically or biodynamically, and where the animals thrive in natural surroundings. If there is fish on the menu, it is also from sustainable suppliers.

Recommended in the Michelin Guide 2019

When you visit Vår, you will be enjoying a Michelin-recommended dish. Restaurant Vår received the ‘Plate’ title in the Michelin Guide in 2019. The restaurant’s setting is described as comfortable on their website. The ‘Plate’ title was given to them as they prepare good meals made with fresh ingredients.

The Michelin Guide wrote this about the restaurant: “A friendly restaurant with only six tables, set on a historic cobbled street. The simple dish descriptions on the 5 and 10-course menus belie the complexity of the creative, flavoursome cooking. Interesting wine recommendations focus on biodynamic and organic choice.”

5 or 10-course menu?

You can decide between 5 or 10-courses on the menu, so it all depends on how hungry and curious you are. Should you want to indulge in 10 courses, it needs to be ordered before 19:30. Alongside the delicious gourmet dishes, there are, of course, paired wines. If you don’t want to drink alcohol, they also offer a juice menu to go with instead.

Restaurant Vår is open Wednesday – Saturday from 18:00-21:30.
