Saunaravintola Kuuma

Saunaravintola Kuuma is located on Laukontori 21 in Tampere, Finland, by the Laukontori market square and boat quay. It opened in the summer of 2018 and has a very special concept! Kuuma works as both a sauna and a restaurant, and it’s open all year round. Kuuma describes it as a ‘relaxation experience for all senses.’

Welcome to Saunaravintola Kuuma

This unique spot is in the heart of Tampere, Laukontori. In addition to the beautiful restaurant and four bars, they have two public saunas which are open to everyone! It’s a unique experience that can’t be found anywhere else with its combination of sauna, Nordic cuisine and tasty drinks. The professional bartenders will make sure that you get cocktails and mocktails perfect for your taste.

Kitchen philosophy

Eero Mäkelä, who is a local gift to the Finnish kitchen and the ambassador of healthy food and drink, TV chef Sara La Fountain pay tribute to Nordic cuisine at this restaurant. The kitchen philosophy is all about Nordic flavours spiced up with small surprising twists influenced by global cuisine. The menu changes according to the season and is designed around the concept of social eating – to share meals. The core of this concept is small, shareable dishes such as modern burgers, soups and fresh salads.

The sauna experience

Sauna-goers can experience the hottest löyly (Finnish word for the steam and heat of the sauna) sensations six days a week in either the wood-heated sauna or the modern smoke sauna. The wood-heated sauna is smaller and more of a traditional type of sauna, whereas the smoke sauna is bigger and can give sauna enthusiasts a chance to step it up a notch.

Students (with a Finnish student card), children (under 16 years of age) and pensioners can enjoy sauna from Tuesday to Friday between 11 and 17 for a reduced price of 8 euros. You are welcome to bring your towel, flannel, swimsuit and slippers. If you forget to bring a towel or swimsuit, you can rent from Kuuma for two euros.
