RESTAURANT IN OLD BOAT HOUSE

In Rovaniemi, summer smells of tar and BBQ delicacies. Savurafla, which opened its doors in the summer of 2022, is located in old boathouse IN Kotisaari, Rovaniemi, and you can only get to the island by boating along the scenic Kemijoki. In the spirit of Uitto (lumberjacks and log floating), the island is surrounded by greenery without asphalt or air conditioning, and the only running water is the river that flows next to it. The restaurant respects the island's history as a base for the lumberjacks, and history still lives on in the old buildings of the island. The spaces in the old boathouse are charming in all their simplicity. Long wooden tables gather the diners together and the dishes are neatly laid out. There are plenty of interesting details around, such as an old fishing net hanging from the ceiling, and the atmosphere is exceptionally warm and inviting.

Staff of Savurafla had smiles on their faces right from the opening summer. Tables were booked at record speed, the unique settings were almost always sold out, and the feedback was laudatory. You gather in Kotisaari for good food and company. The BBQ restaurant brings something new to Rovaniemi's restaurant offering, something like this has never been seen in the city before.

The tavern can accommodate about 50 people for dinner, and it is possible to set additional tables in the courtyard. In the summer, dinner outside, surrounded by a picturesque landscape, is a truly unique experience - like a scene from the Oscar-winning Suomi film. If you want to make the experience even more special, it is also possible to organize private and business events in Kotisaari when there is no snow. Popular programs include log-themed competitions, crab parties and sauna in the island's original log sauna, which can accommodate 6-8 people at a time.

IN HONOR OF BBQ TRADITIONS
