At restaurant SALT, you can look forward to modern Danish dishes full of flavour. SALT is in the Admiral Hotel, which is placed beautifully on the harbour front with Amalienborg as a neighbour. Enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and the beautiful view of the three schooners, the Royal Danish Opera and Ofelia Square.
SALT bar & restaurant sits in an old warehouse from the 1780s. The restaurant opened its doors in 2003 and was designed by world-famous English architecture practice Conran & Partners. Huge wooden beams tell the stories of the old days while the modern furniture breaks away from the historical image and creates a stylish and contrasting vibe in the restaurant.
It is the award-winning Head Chef Rasmus Møller Nielsen, who since 2004 has overseen the creation of tasty dishes here at SALT. Rasmus Møller Nielsen has before SALT worked at Pierre André as well as been a Sous-chef at the acclaimed Michelin starred restaurant Søllerød Kro.
Alongside his dedicated kitchen team at SALT, they create delicious dishes that are based on the philosophy that food should be in harmony and balanced. Their philosophy comes to expression through the menu where the dishes balance between tradition and modernity and between the joy of something you know and the challenge of trying something new.
At SALT, all the dishes are fundamentally local, but the kitchen team seeks inspiration from all over the globe. Their culinary hearts beat the strongest when the seasons change, and they get to dig into all the delights that nature itself produces in the Danish corner of the world.
SALT has a big à la carte menu where you can choose a single dish or create your own creative menu.
In many cultures, salt and bread are served for guests as a sign of friendship and hospitality. The same, of course, goes for SALT. Here, they do not ‘just’ serve bread and salt but offer three different luxury salts for their guests: Læsø Salt from Denmark, Guerande Salt from France, and Maldon Salt from England. All three salts are made from seawater and used in their everyday cooking.
