The street is full of different sounds: street musicians, bicycle taxis, foreign languages, clinking glasses, boat engines and rattling plates.

Skipperkroen is part of the Streckers family, which owns and operates several restaurants and bars in Copenhagen, including Baroque, Nyhavn 37, Harbor Grill, Ved Kajen in Nyhavn. They are also the owners of Færgekroen Bryghus, Promenaden and Terrassen in Tivoli.
