During the day, Nordisk Spisehus is a modern, Danish restaurant, but as soon as the sun sets, the horizon is expanded. You will experience a unique fusion of the Nordic kitchen and a variety of tastes from all over the world. You can find the restaurant on M.P. Bruuns Gade just two minutes from Aarhus central station. The place is beautifully decorated with wooden furniture and green plants.

At Nordisk Spisehus, you can experience some of the best flavours that the world has to offer. The kitchen regularly travels around the world to gain inspiration and learn new, exciting cooking techniques. They also learn about food traditions, tastes and produce. All their inspiration and ideas eventually end up on your plate, beautifully prepared.
The entire kitchen staff has, at some point, worked with several of the world’s best Michelin chefs both far and wide. This hardcore dedication and pride is one of the reasons why that you, as a guest, can experience some of the absolute best international cuisines right here in the heart of the city of Aarhus.
The best team in the city
Nordisk Spisehus may perhaps have the best team in the city. In the kitchen, they have two innovative chefs, Jacob Freitag and Kasper Pelle Christiansen. Jacob Freitag has previously been a sou-chef at Malling & Schmidt, and Christiansen has previously been a chef at Molskroen.
The highly experienced waiter team consists of the restaurant manager and sommelier Søren Appel Hansen and Sidse Bundgaard Rasmussen. Søren Appel Hansen previously worked as a restaurant manager at Brøderene Koch and won the ‘Denmark’s Best Waiter’ award in 2009. Sidse Bundgaard Rasmussen started her career at Nordisk Spisehus. She then ventured out and worked at Domestic, but eventually returned home to Nordisk Spisehus.
The restaurant is currently featured in the 2020 Michelin Guide. The guide wrote this about the restaurant:
“Flavourful modern dishes are based on Danish recipes but also exhibit influences from around the globe, particularly France. Choose between 3 set menus and an 8-course menu dedicated entirely to caviar.”
You can dine at Nordic Spisehus Monday to Saturday. They open for lunch at 12:00 till 15:00, and for dinner at 17:30 till 24:00.
The last order must be placed before 21:30 before the kitchen closes.
