Restaurant Koefoed
Koefoed serves brilliant Danish cuisine (with emphasis on Bornholm) with its own modern twist. The restaurant is in the heart of Copenhagen on Landgreven 3, just a quick stroll from Kongens Nytorvs Metro and just around the corner from our Royal Family at Amalienborg. The restaurant currently holds the Plate title from the Michelin Guide 2019 for serving great food with fresh ingredients.
Beautiful Established Coal Cellar
The restaurant resides in an old-timey cellar with an aroma of ‘hygge.’ It’s a classy restaurant located in a bright open space just below the groundfloor. It has many quiet and cozy corners where you can dine in solitude. The interior exudes Danish with its rustic decor, clean white tables and Danish landscape paintings.
The inspiration came from the distinctive round churches of Bornholm, with their raw, whitewashed arches and vaults. The mood is casual, the food delicious, and the staff attentive. Koefoed’s is the perfect place to treat yourself or someone special with great food and wine.
A Tribute to Bornholm
The concept at Koefoed’s is quite simple. It is a tribute to the sunny island of Bornholm. The focus is on the island’s many small suppliers and their specialty products of high quality. The love Koefoed has for Bornholm is nicely represented in the food.
Lunch and Dinner
Koefoed’s is open for both lunch and dinner. For lunch, they serve classic, Danish smørrebrød (open-faced sandwiches) with beer and akvavit from Bornholm. You have the option between a ‘Classic Bornholm Smørrebrød’ menu or an intriguing selection of smørrebrød off their à la carte menu.
In the evening, you can explore a gastronomic experience of delicate dishes made from Danish produce sided with a delicious glass of wine. They offer a regular tasting menu or a fish menu. Koefoed’s also offers single dishes if you aren’t hungry enough for an entire menu.
