In a quiet corner of Bernstorffsparken, you will find the beautiful Queen Louise’s Tea House with a charming thatched roof, located in the middle of a fragrant rose garden. In the adjacent nursery, you will find the old and equally charming greenhouse called Paradehuset. Both offer a pleasant atmosphere in scenic historical surroundings.
We have different events in the Tea House throughout the year. Every weekend you can enjoy our traditionel Afternoon Tea. It is possible to sit out in the garden surrounded by the intoxicating scent of roses and beautiful, vibrant colours. You can also choose to sit inside the cozy little tea house and enjoy your tea in unique surroundings.
Unique interior in Rococo style
The house was originally used as a guest house in connection with the castle in the park. Christian IX’s wife Louise made a gorgeous rose garden in front of the house. Here, she would sit and enjoy her tea in the middle of the idyllic garden.
In 2013 it was put to good use once again – with the same purpose! The house was renovated with respect for the architecture and the history of the house. The interior itself is inspired by the 1880s. The house stands as a modern interpretation of the Rococo style.
The interior was created specifically for this place. Therefore, you will be getting a unique experience in these picturesque settings. The room is full of beautiful colours, tailored interior, handmade textiles, and custom-made tapestry.
Chaya is the name of the company behind the tea experiences at Dronning Louise’s Tehus.
The entire idea started as a hobby company about 40 years ago. Today Chaya consist of a webshop, two teashops in Lyngby and Charlottenlund, Queen Louise's Tea House and The Café by Ordrupgaard Museum.
The concept is to create a peaceful place to block out the craziness of our daily lives with a delicious cup of tea.
