Just on the Refshaleøen harbourfront, you’ll find La Banchina. For many years, the little blue house functioned as a waiting room for the B&W shipyard workers, who every day commuted across the inner harbour. Today, the place serves as a restaurant and wine bar seating only 16 and offering the best views of Copenhagen. In the summer months, the restaurant and its floating pontoons are filled from morning to evening with guests enjoying breakfast, coffee, vegetable and fish dishes of the day and sipping natural wine, while dipping their feet in the water. In winter, La Banchina's on-site sauna also has a following of its own.


Banchina winter experience

From October to April, every Thursday to Saturday evening, La Banchina offers a tasting menu and the possibility to book a table. The atmosphere in the small restaurant is intimate and personal. Focus is on vegetables, the preserved taste of summer and everything the sea can offer - and the food is prepared with creativity and love. The menu changes according to the availability of the organic produce of the season. The kitchen is led by Daniel Runge Christensen and Kieran McLaughlin, both of whom have a past at Relæ. Sustainability is essential to La Banchina, and the restaurant exclusively uses organic and biodynamic produce and trawl-free fish. The wine is clean and unmanipulated and the wine list is set by Sommelier Heye Grünberg. The menu is fixed and consists of 10+ servings for 725,- Wine menu is 500,- or you can choose individual glasses. No reservations in daytime. Only the winter experience dinner requires booking. A vegetarian or vegan menu is possible – please contact us at with allergies or dietary restrictions. We accept reservations up to 60 days prior to your visit and for a maximum of 6 guests. Please contact us if you have requests for larger bookings. Otherwise, we recommend our sister restaurant Il Buco at Islands Brygge.
