Restaurant Tabu sits in the heart of Aalborg on Vesterå 5. Tabu has a relaxed atmosphere with a fierce, gastronomic menu ready to enamour its guests. They are open from Tuesday to Saturday, with lunch available every day from 11:30-15:00.

A taste of the north

Michael ‘Miv’ Pedersen's ambition for this restaurant was to have the focus entirely on local North Jutland produce. The goal was to make a menu that was a gastronomic tour of North Jutland, to which they succeeded remarkably. The dishes are made up of unique textures and flavours that follow the seasonal changes.

The lunch menu has a variety of snacks and dishes, starting at 500kr. The dinner menu Tuesday to Thursday will be from 850kr, and on Fridays and Saturdays, they provide a more exclusive experience starting from 1250kr excluding beverages.

Award-winning restaurant

Tabu is no stranger to praise. The acclaimed gourmet restaurant strives for perfection in every aspect of the culinary world. Celebrity chef Michael ‘Miv’ Pedersen and his team have won Best in North Jutland 2019, and they were also the Local Cooking 2019 winners at Århus Food Festival.

In February of 2019, they were the only restaurant in Aalborg to gain the prestigious ‘Michelin Plate’ in the Michelin Guide 2019. They have numerous praising reviews, including one from the New York Times, which goes to show that Tabu is in it to win it.

Acclaimed Top-Chef

Celebrity Chef Michael ’Miv’ Pedersen was described as one of Denmark’s most ambitious, talented chefs on VisitAalborg.dk. He won Chef of the Year in 2013 and has appeared on several Danish tv programmes such as “Mad med Miv og Møller.”

He has worked and helped open several restaurants in North Jutland, such as the incredible CANblau and is the owner of Tabu’s sister restaurant Ubat Veggie.
