FAMO METRO

Famo Metro resides on Øster Søgade in Copenhagen's attractive district near the Lakes. It serves simple, seasonal dishes where you can taste and see what is on the plate.

THE FOOD

Famo Metro is a guarantor of good food in the Italian genre. The dishes are simple, rustic, and full of flavour. The food consists of fresh, seasonal ingredients. The price is at a level that most people can agree on, and it is probably the combination of pure Italian cuisine and sympathetic prices that place Famo Metro among the popular kids in the Copenhagen food class.

LOCATION

In the late summer of 2010, Famo Metro opened its doors to their cozy restaurant, just a stone's throw from Sortedamssøen and Østerbro's vibrant life. The restaurant itself is divided into two sections. Enter the bright rooms on the ground floor, which immediately seem welcoming on even the grayest day. Sit by the large windows and enjoy a view of the lakes.

In the Basement, you can grab a seat by the open fireplace. All around the room, there are lit candles that also contribute to the relaxed and homely atmosphere. The space is perfect for larger parties.

THE TEAM

FAMO Metro is the third restaurant in the Famo family, which consists of Famo Saxo on Vesterbro, Famo Carne on Gl. Kongevej.

The trinity was founded by Morten Kaltoft and Fabbio Mazon. Both have admirable resumes in the restaurant industry. Morten Kaltoft also runs Osteria 16, Spaghetteria, Pizzeria 54 and the Italian grocer MERCATO alongside Emil Alsbo.

Fabbio Mazon is a former head chef at the renowned Michelin-starred restaurant Era Ora. The staff at FAMO Carne are, therefore, highly trained in creating memorable dining experiences.

WINE

The wine list is broad with a red sea of bottles hand-picked from some of the country's most competent importers. The wine list offers wines both from more reputable brands as well as from smaller, organic producers worth checking out. Naturally, you will mainly find wines from Italy - especially the areas of Tuscany and Piedmont, where the Brunello and Barolo wines come from.
