L'éducation Nationale

L’éducation Nationale is Copenhagen’s authentic French bistro located in the heart of the old Latin Quarters. It has resided there for more than 20 years, and it is like stepping into the rediscovered France. They serve classic French dishes at red-checkered tables for both lunch and dinner every day of the week.

The team behind

Since 2003, the owners' Nanna Gårdbo Jensen and her French companion from Bretagne, Eric Vincent, have managed this restaurant and transformed it into a Parisian dream. Here you can expect to be seduced when the friendly staff serve authentic French cuisine and delicate wines on checkered tablecloths.

Authentic French

Everything at L’éducation Nationale is authentic – everything from the interior and the music to the French waiters who prefer that the orders come in French. On the menu, you will find all the French classics both for lunch and dinner. They have everything from French oysters to the quiche of the day and one of the restaurant’s specialties: crème brûlée.

The rumours on the street are that the restaurant is so authentic that even French people who reside or visit Denmark come here to eat. Book a table at L’éducation Nationale and judge for yourself.

Fresh French produce

The evening menu changes from time to time to ensure that the dishes pair well with the season’s best produce. Here, you can choose freely between the many French favourites on their á la carte menu, or you can try their ‘Menu du chef,’ where the chef has chosen three classics for 335 DKK.

A great meal for next to nothing

L’éducation is the place to get a good and authentic meal for next to nothing. That way, you can enjoy dining here several times without breaking the bank. To go along with the food, they, of course, have natural French wines. The wine list is also authentic French. They have something for everyone on their wine list and from all over France, such as Loire, Rhone, Bordeaux, and Bourgogne.

Stop by every day from 11.30 – 24.00 (The kitchen closes at 22.00 every day except Sundays where it closes at 21.00).
